I have been asked many times to put together the tactics I used to help manage a candida/fungus overgrowth. I use the word “manage,” because in honesty, I have to admit that I have not been able to rid myself of symptoms completely.
But what I *have* been able to do is reduce my symptoms by 90% or more, most of the time, returning my quality of life pretty much in full, with the occasional exception of flare-ups. Within this effort, and I believe because of the tactics I used, I was able to not have an extreme diet change, and still be able to take in a good deal of *healthy* sugars, when needed for optimal functioning and for working out, as compared to a complete deprivation as so many anti-candida diets call for.
I have in the past incorporated refined sugars in on the weekends as a sort of “cheat,” but of late I have been opting to keep refined sugars completely out of my diet, at least for many months now. I may bring some back in, likely in the form of a relatively clean ice cream, which is my favorite cheat food. If it helps anyone to know, I believe most people discover that they indeed *can* eliminate their favorite dessert-type foods, and after just a short adjustment period, do not miss them…at least not so much so that it is unbearable.
And as a follow-up to that thought, I can state definitively, that as much as I enjoyed (outright LOVED) candy bars as a kid, I find them literally, absolutely, disgusting as of now. The last time I tried candy was about four to five Halloweens ago when excess was available, it was so sickly sweet that I nearly vomited, and I’m certain that if I tried it again, that I outright WOULD vomit.
Point being…as my FacelessFatloss program covers…sugar is a real and severe addiction. So are cigarettes. And ask any smoker how appealing those cigarettes are after not having taken a puff in years. 9 times out of 10, they will tell you that the thought of it is very unappealing.
The components of my anti-candida approach are available via the tab at the top of the page. They are powerful supplements and technologies that made a huge difference in my life, as someone who had a gargantuan fungal load based on years of poor diet, and long stretches of antibiotics.
