WELCOME from Tim Ritter of “Over 40 and Ripped” and the Maintenance Motions team!
You’ve made a smart decision in joining my health-focused community as we get ourselves better, get ourselves sexier, and STAY that way for LIFE.
Let’s get started with a short video:
What you will be learning here will encompass all of the many years of research I have put into this endeavor towards superior health first, and fat/weight loss second. It MUST be taken in that order. I will therefore be presenting many different angles and areas of interest that you and I can explore together in an effort to find what works best for YOU.
The vast majority of what I’ll be describing will be avenues that I have personally explored and am currently actively using in my efforts to maintain the body you see in my on-going free videos.
Check back to those free videos from time to time to explore new ideas and learn about new viewpoints and research.
And to see how I perpetually look basically the same, over long stretches of time.
I realize that this is largely a lifestyle change for many of you. It is an extremely rewarding lifestyle change that does get easier and easier OVER TIME. I can promise you this! You will understand why this time factor is so important as I reveal the theories that are so rarely touched on in most programs out there…everything from pathogen issues, to serious addiction issues, to the hows and whys we have come to a place where a large percentage of our teenagers are now becoming diabetic, obese, and experiencing a wide range of physical and mental disease, which just gets worse with age.
It is important to take some initiative and learn to become your own authority in this area of self-improvement. Learn from me, but pay close attention to how your body reacts to anything new you decide to try. Learn to become attuned to your body’s responses. Your body is MAGIC. It is the most amazing machine that has ever been built, an extraordinary vehicle with plenty of consciousness all its own. Your body teaches you every day. Learn to pay attention to the signals you receive. Notice when you are tired, and what you’ve eaten in the past hour that could have contributed to that feeling. When it comes to exercise, learn to differentiate between a good “burn,” and improper “pain,” the latter of which usually comes on abruptly, unexpectedly, and is often “sharp” as compared to an extended “burn” that you would want. Pay less attention to your weight, and instead note changes in your appearance. Use the mirror as your guide instead of the scale. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat.
These private pages are designed to be sub-chapters the original e-book, because the book was initially just a huge monstrosity! I did not want to have people reading endlessly, when I could present the info in chunks instead.
I am SO happy to be able to bring all of this information to you, and if my feedback thus far is any indication, my clients are not only obtaining their fat loss goals, but realizing a completely new state of health and wellness that was before now, unknown to them. I accept that as as much of a gift to myself, as it is a gift to them. I believe there is no better way to live life than to help ourselves, and in turn help others.
Now regarding the fasting cleanse:
The video below features the main ingredients for the fast, including a video of preparation of one of my two-quart sized drinks, during the fourth day of my January 2009 fast.
NOTE: I am no longer using the bentonite clay, but I referenced it because I used to use it during my earlier fasts. If I could not find it, I would just use the psyllium instead. (Please do not contact me asking where to obtain it; it can be difficult to come by, so consider just skipping it if you cannot find it at your favorite suppliers)
Fasting is an extraordinary experience, but it is not for everyone. For this reason, I will present alternatives. The alternatives take longer, due to the intake of some foods, but are none-the-less very helpful towards our goals of detoxification and pathogen management.
You can find the allicin in the “Alli-C” picture to the right.
The psyllium found in the picture link below is not only organic, but also Fair Trade, and any/all purchases you make from this link, at this site, have the commissions going to a third-party charity helping a sufferer of Aspergers, a part of the Autism spectrum. I make no money from any purchases you make. You can find a link to psyllium on the home page:
Organic India also has many other wonderful products, their teas are a favorite of mine, (they’re an awesome company!) and again all sales benefit the third party. 🙂
I always put some special time aside for fasting. It can be very demanding. No heavy exercise, but some moderate walking is acceptable for many folks, and encouraged for those excessively overweight. I personally do not go to the gym at all during my fasting; my workouts are very intense, and would result in my body eating my own muscle to feed the energy needs required. Totally defeating the purpose of my workouts. For those used to working out, we will definitely be in a catabolic state during the fast…BUT…the muscle will be restored quickly, within a week once we resume our workouts. I have never experienced otherwise, and the raw whey protein I promote ensures a quick recovery of all muscle lost within that first week or two max.
In general, most people find the first three days are the toughest. The fourth day on tends to be easier. It’s those days when the colon REALLY cleans itself out. Do not neglect the crystal-salt water oral enema every morning starting on the second day. To do so is to completely waste the whole point of the fast, by re-cycling the wastes that are not being removed. There is absolutely no point to fasting if you are not evacuating the fiber (psyllium) from your system that you consumed the day before. Absolutely NO point, it is NOT optional. One weight loss program out there that shall remain nameless has people do a similar so-called “cleanse” with the psyllium, BUT while eating AND WITHOUT the morning salt-water enema/evacuation. A near-total waste of effort, in my firm opinion. (And that program costs $400 by the way).
Light headedness, headaches, and other forms of detoxification symptoms are common during fasting. Be aware that most anything that feels “unusual” is likely due to our body dispelling toxins. I have found tremendous benefit in keeping myself highly occupied during fasts, to take the mind off of the lack of food consumption. I will often arrange to tackle over-due chores during the time of my fast; very minimal labor chores, such as organization projects, cleaning, etc. Jobs that you always wish you had the time to do, but never could find the time for. The perfect opportunity.
If you hold a job which requires heavy labor, it will be nearly impossible to carry out a fast while working in my opinion. I would always set aside special time to embark on fasting.
Fasting is a very powerful experience for many who take it on. I personally feel that anyone capable of a fast, should incorporate them into their lives on a regular basis. It is not only extremely beneficial from an overall health standpoint, but we now also know that during the weight and fat loss process, so many toxins are released that a cleansing fast is almost a necessity to assist in the overall process. This fact is severely under-addressed in the fat loss/fitness industry, and I’m happy to be able to bring this to light in my program. Without cleansing, fat loss efforts may be prolonged and add other complications that we do not need.
UPDATE: For the cleanse, I am now no longer using more than four quarts of the lemonade mix a day, as compared to five. I have found four quarts of the lemonade mix to be the upper range to accomplish our goals of hydration down to the cellular level, as well as provide enough bare nutrition and hunger-pang reliever that the four quarts is plenty for most people, even those with more excessive weight and/or fat. This also reduces our maple syrup and lemon juice needs by just a bit, and seems to be more convenient for most people as compared to trying to get down the full five quarts each day.
As mentioned on bentonite clay; it is optional, and I no longer use it for my fasts. If I were to use it again, it will always be only the pharmaceutical grade designed for internal use.
And as the last component to both the Master Cleanse style of fasting, as well as the alternative cleansing which I will go into more tomorrow, here is a video explaining how I put together my all-important morning oral salt water enema, starting on the second day and continuing until the end of the fast.
As I’ve stated repeatedly, this is the part of the cleanse that is not optional at all. No point at all in doing the fast if we do not clear out the colon each morning after (forgive the aspect ratio on the video…was set too wide, lol):
I have covered how I break the fast in the e-book. The focus is on doing it very gently, with blander, preferably raw food choices and definitely avoiding meats for a bit if one is a meat-eater, meats in my opinion being the heaviest burden on the digestive tract. I can get quality protein via the raw whey protein as an ultra-clean, bio-available source for the first few days, then of course beyond that as part of my workout supplementation. See the picture to the right to find that wonderful whole-food supplement. Keep in mind that everything coming into the digestive process after having not eaten for a time is virtually a shock to the system. And having cleaned myself out so effectively, the last thing I want to be doing is shoving lousy foods back down in there and re-contaminating the area.
COMING UP: ALTERNATIVES TO THE FASTING CLEANSE.
