Potassium/Magnesium Ice Cream/Shake/Smoothie Gig:

Many people believe that most of us have a massive potassium deficiency, similar to that of magnesium.  It’s interesting how relatively unavailable good quality potassium supplements are…not that I would use them, but for medicinal purposes they are virtually absent from the market.

The best source of potassium is of course always going to be a food source.  Recognizing that so many people who have read my story and are adopting parts of it to their own life struggle with missing sweets in their life, I am showing what I use as a treat-type of food that can make for a great substitute to ice cream or junky/sugary smoothies loaded with refined sugar, and supply us with the vitally important potassium and magnesium macro minerals that too many people seem to be deficient in.

Bananas are a great source of needed potassium.  However, I am always conscious of the fact that I’m eating a highly hybridized food.  Bananas found in their natural environment are not nearly as sweet, and have much larger and denser seeds.  They barely resemble the bananas most of western society recognizes at the grocery store.

Hybrids can occur via science, or naturally in nature such as via bees.  I do not have a strong opinion on the former, other than to say that if I could eat only heirloom foods as a readily-available choice, I would always opt for them, sans pesticides, etc as well.  We live in a highly hybridized world, and as I cover elsewhere, the hybridization of wheat may be causing more problems for us than we realize.

The whole ordeal is a lousy pickle.

So I choose the organic bananas, having been only just a bit more costly than non-organic bananas for years now, and are very affordable at that.  There have been occasions at my grocery store when they were priced exactly the same.

If I were in the initial stages of fat loss, prior to Maintenace Phase, I would go easy on this kind of treat.  If absolutely necessary, perhaps one a day as my total fruit fill for the day, since I’m curbing all kinds of sugars for the initial one to three months of my efforts.  Perhaps ideally, keeping it to once every other day or weekend cheating for the initial fat loss time period.

Later on, reducing the dietary fats enables me to indulge in higher sugar foods of all kinds. The difference for me is, that mostly amounts to naturally occurring sugars, with just a few cheat/processed foods mixed in here and there, but always with purpose, such as before physical activity or workouts or for specific “cheats” to help balance my metabolism.  During the week, my cheating would amount to things like my rice cookies and dark and white chocolate cheats.  On weekends I’ll hit the ice cream.

For the record: Don’t be surprised when you crave a healthier fruit-based smoothie over ice cream!  Once your body gets more used to whole organic foods, the body tends to prefer them!

Under-ripe bananas are eaten by some people as what I called previously the “pass through carbs.”  The sugar content of under-ripe bananas has been shown to pass through the digestive process with less impact on blood sugar, in a way almost giving us a carb/sugar we can eat but not be as affected by it if we’re in the initial fat stages.

The problem for some people with that approach is that the banana may not digest as easily, causing gas and similar issues for some people when it is not in it’s more ripe, higher-sugar-content phase.

Some of you have heard of the “30 Bananas a Day” thing.  I support their efforts, and especially their ethics, but I personally do not feel that is a diet that is helpful for most people outside of cycling it in their diets.  I know that I personally could not do it, and the sugar consumption, naturally occurring or not, is just far too large.  I also do not have a taste for constant sweets (but definitely do have a sweet tooth).  I came to realize back in 2005 that my body just seemed to need some animal products, even dairy which I also cycle in or use as a cheat food (which as I mention elsewhere in my material seems to be 50/50 with people according to the latest research; half of us can’t tolerate it, the other half benefit from it).  After being a vegetarian for about 15 years, what I discuss in my materials is what I have found to be optimal for my health and well-being and keeps me feeling and looking my best.

There will be a picture on the right side of this page showing where to get the topical magnesium with a coupon code for a discount.  You can get the epsom salt I reference in the video to add to the smoothie at any grocery or drug store.  Cheap and lasts a long time, with the added benefit of assuring me of almost no constipation ever, without any laxative effect.  And as Gramma used to say, “a pinch a day keeps the pain away.”  If we’re low on magnesium, taking it orally requires a lot more build-up time to adequate levels in the body (some studies suggest one to two years!), whereas the topical version seems to give us what we need much much quicker, days to weeks at most.  I noticed huge benefits within a mere three days, it was very pronounced.  And little chance of “overdose” topically, since we have only so much surface area with which to apply it on our skin.  (Overdosing orally causes diarrhea).  I use both almost daily, the pinch orally in my water or smoothies, and the topical as the deodorant (either several sprays a day, diluted half/half with spring water in a small portable glass spray bottle, or the roll-on, both of which last a long time).  It is a significant stress reducer that really really works, among a huge array of other benefits.  One of those “must have” supps for me.

The whey protein I used in the video is also found over to the right.

P.S. Following the recipe, with just bananas and a little water: Adding just a half-scoop of the *unflavored/unsweetened* whey protein (specifically the kind I promote and use; if you use a different whey, the taste will not be the same) along with one extra large egg (the cage-free organic)…using the egg to compensate for a little less water…basically gives you something akin to VANILLA ICE CREAM.  Vanilla ice cream with just a hint of banana.  Bananas have the power to overwhelm flavors, as you may know.  Amazingly, the whey and egg turn this into something that could almost completely fool someone that it’s a soft vanilla ice cream.  It is CRAZY DELISH.  TRY IT DAMMIT!!!  😉

 Tomorrow:

SEX.

PLEASE NOTE: If the topic of safe sex, as it relates to communicable disease and including what some would consider graphic descriptions bother you, PLEASE do not open the link in tomorrow’s email.  The subject matter is covered as a part of the theme I have with my program, that of immune system health.  In that regard, it is a subject matter that I felt should not be avoided.
