It is very important to remember that the psyllium seed/husk absolutely must be of an organic variety.  Some health food stores have organic psyllium in their bulk sections, but it seems that many others do not.  Psyllium happens to have very high pesticide content if it is not organic.  This is the last thing we want to be putting into our intestines when we are attempting to clean them out.

Fasting is an extraordinary experience, but it is not for everyone.  For this reason, I will present alternatives in an upcoming video. The alternatives take longer, due to the intake of some foods, but are none-the-less very helpful towards our goals of detoxification and pathogen destruction.  

I always put some special time aside for fasting.  It can be very demanding.  No heavy exercise, but some moderate walking is acceptable for many folks, and encouraged for those excessively overweight.  I personally do not go to the gym at all during my fasting; my workouts are very intense, and would result in my body eating my own muscle to feed the energy needs required.  Totally defeating the purpose of my workouts.

The first three days are the toughest.  The fourth day onward tends to be easier.  It’s those days when the colon REALLY cleans itself out.  I would never neglect the crystal-salt water oral enema every morning starting on the second day…to do so is to completely waste the whole point of the fast, by re-cycling the wastes that are not being removed.  There is absolutely no point to fasting if we are not evacuating the fiber (psyllium) and bentonite clay from our system that we consumed the day before.  Absolutely no point.  As always referenced in my materials, this is only what I do and use for myself.  A doctor should be consulted at all times, for any program, and if I had an issue with salt, hypertension, etc, I would be conscious of my salt intake if my doctor agreed that it is an issue.  It has been my experience that most doctors do not approve of fasting nor the way I choose to achieve and maintain my health.

NOTE/UPDATE ON THE BENTONITE CLAY: I have found, at least for now and for those in Australia, a source of food-grade bentonite clay.  I personally have decided to no longer use the clay for my cleanses.  It has become more inconvenient for even me to find locally (used to be very readily available) so I do not utilize it any longer and am still plenty pleased with the results of my cleanses.  If I could find it readily, I would use it occasionally, but personally, I no longer feel it is a necessity.  I certainly would not bother with it if it were a hassle to find, it is not worth the extra effort.  Again, this link/company is in Australia.  If the link is dead and the site no longer exists please let me know: http://www.healingclay.com.au/edible_bentonite.htm

PROGRAM UPDATE: For the cleanse, I am now no longer using more than four quarts of the lemonade mix a day, as compared to five.  I have found four quarts of the lemonade mix to be the upper range to accomplish my goals of hydration down to the cellular level, as well as provide enough bare nutrition and hunger-pang reliever that the four quarts is plenty.  This also reduces my maple syrup and lemon juice needs by just a bit, and is more convenient compared to trying to get down the full five quarts each day.

Light headedness, headaches, and other forms of detoxification symptoms are common during fasting.  Be aware that most anything that feels “unusual” is likely due to our body dispelling toxins.  I have found tremendous benefit in keeping myself highly occupied during fasts, to take the mind off of the lack of food consumption.  I will often arrange to tackle over-due chores during the time of my fast; very minimal labor chores, such as organization projects, cleaning, etc. Jobs that I always wish I had the time to do, but never could find the time for.  The perfect opportunity.

For a job which requires heavy labor it will be nearly impossible to carry out a fast while working.  Time must be set aside to embark on fasting.

Fasting is a very powerful experience for many who take it on.  I personally feel that anyone capable of a fast, should consider incorporating them into their lives on a regular basis as I have.  It appears to not only be extremely beneficial from an overall health standpoint, but we now also know that during the weight and fat loss process, so many toxins are released that a cleansing fast is almost a necessity to assist in the overall process.  This notion is severely under-addressed in the fat loss/fitness industry, and I’m happy to be able to bring this to light in my program.  Without cleansing, fat loss efforts can be prolonged and add other possible complications that we do not need.

COUPLING PATHOGEN MANAGEMENT WITH DETOXIFICATION

The clearing out of the colon is a powerful first step in a body-wide cleansing process.  It helps enable the body to then rid itself of other burdens, such as pathogen loads that are working against us.  I have found that a perfect time to help reduce the parasite load in the body is during a time when I am aggressively detoxing; the clearing of the colon and near-zero digestive burden seems to free up the rest of the system…lymph, liver and kidneys…to help escort not only toxins, but parasite issues with greater ease.

Therefore, incorporating allicin into the fast is of vital importance to me.  It is the perfect supplement to assist with the colon clearing, since research seems to prove it will knock out GI tract parasites without impacting the healthy flora in the process.  Lots of the bad guys seem to really dislike garlic and its active anti-microbial molecule known as allicin; be it vampires ;), intestinal parasites of all sizes or intestinal yeast/fungus overgrowth.  I like to take it at different intervals throughout the day, mostly in between the fiber-fill (psyllium), but occasionally in conjunction with the fiber if I’ve found myself missing a usual time.  It is preferable to not take it with the fiber…but if I miss it once, I take it with the fiber anyway.  It’s more important that every opportunity be taken to utilize this incredible anti-pathogen at a time when I am not consuming regular foods.

While the allicin hits the colon sufficiently, I like to tackle any systemic issues, parasites and pathogens in other parts of my body, via a silver supplement.  Combining allicin and silver appears to make for a fantastic team; silver is absorbed sublingually, under the tongue, and cannot (for the most part) get past the stomach when swallowed without being rendered inactive.  When absorbed under the tongue for 2 minutes or more, it travels in the blood stream to all parts of the body, and has a mechanism of action that is entirely different from allicin, involving the attraction of opposing charges that defeat a wide range of germs very easily.  I have studied various colloidal and other forms of silver since the early 1990’s, and have experimented with home made versions and countless manufactured kinds.  Although I always believed in the supplement due to the study and effort put into it around the world for so long (it was used before the invention of antibiotics), I never found any real effectiveness from any of them until the mid-2000’s, when I discovered two different kinds…one specifically a colloidal type and the other not…that actually did produce real, tangible results not only for myself, but friends and family as well.

So I offer them both in my program, and always use one or the other in conjunction with the allicin when I’m fasting, for a well-rounded, full-body detoxification/anti-pathogen approach.
